Light in the darkness.

Who will fight our battles?

Who will go before us?

Lest we make the same errors that were made in the past

Errors recorded for our benefit

Nevertheless, the people refused to listen to the voice of Samuel, and they said, “No, but there shall be a king over us, that we also may be like all the nations, that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.” (1 Samuel 8:19-20 NASB)

Whose will lead us?

In this but a short journey

Through a world so troubled

Each one of us given a light to hold high

To walk through the darkest of path

Declaring praises to our God

Sounding the trumpet

Even if the darkness seems to close in on us sometimes

So much injustice, so many lies, so many gray areas

A loud voice above all the noise is heard,

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16KJV)

We keep walking this walk of faith

Even when it seems as if our lights are dimming

Our God is going before us, He is fighting our battles

The just shall live by faith

Matters of the heart

You weigh hearts

Should You weigh mine

May it weigh more than vapor

I pray that in my heart a seed you will sow

As seasons change and You pass by  looking expectantly

May the seed have begun to sprout

When You come looking for fruit

May you find some in me, not as the fig tree that looked promising on the outside

But had nothing to offer on the inside

In the deep

Where You call out

From the place of many waters enough to refresh, restore and satisfy our souls

Your heart calling out to mine

Deep calling upon deep

Come let us sit together

Let us eat together

Let us get to know each other

Let us reason together

Know Me my child, as I know you

The treasure in the deep

You come into my house- my life

You give me a clean heart

You pour Your very life in me

Your very presence poured out in a mortal being

As was with the with Ark of the Covenant

My body but a tent

Yet I carry a treasure

The presence of the Almighty God

the greatest treasure, for which my Jesus paid

A price so high, His body torn just as the curtains in the temple

So that my heart may be forever joined with Yours

“How beautiful are your tents, Jacob, your dwelling places, Israel!” Numbers 24:5

Oh that this I may grasp, and give You honor

The impossible made possible

By a God so great and precious

Whose love overrides time and space

That He would want to dwell in me

His love overriding time and space

Psalm 42:7 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

  Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls;
All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.

Psalm 51:6 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being,
And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.

Shalom Israel

The God of Israel is my God

I enjoy the benefits of being in a relationship with Him

Through His son Jesus Christ, He calls me His own

Though a gentile

Like Ruth I have been grafted into His family

By a loving Father.

He adopts anyone who will accept His son as their savior

Just as Ruth did I have made up my mind

“Your God will be my God, your people will be my people.”

I chose You oh God of Israel

I chose life

I stand with Your people

Shalom Israel

Deuteronomy 4:34 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Or has a god tried to go to take for himself a nation from within another nation by trials, by signs and wonders and by war and by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm and by great terrors, as the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

Deuteronomy 4:37 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their descendants after them. And He personally brought you from Egypt by His great power.

I wish vs Thank you.

I wish I had this or that

Thank you God that I have this and that

I wish I had a better job

Thank God for my job

I wish I had a bigger flat or a house with a garden

Lord Jesus thank you that I have a place to live, a roof over my head!

I wish I had this gift or that talent; just think of how I could change the world!

Dear Holy Spirit thank you for Your gifts, You have given me all I require for life and godliness in Christ!

I wish I could travel, I wish I had more money!

I am so grateful because life with You Lord is a journey. Every day I learn something new. For it is the glory of kings to search out a matter, what an adventure it is to walk with You Lord Jesus.

I wish I was smarter

Holy Spirit thank you that You have chosen to reside in me. You lead me and I do not rely on my own understanding. You whisper and reveal deep things to me, therefore I am wise and I never have to face life a lone again!

I wish I was richer, prettier, famous, powerful…

I wish I wish I wish

I am so thankful to You Lord Jesus, You have given me all I need.

The Lord’s battles.

The Lord’s battles

Psalm 24:8 King James Version (KJV)

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

Battles of justice

Battles to bring restoration

Battles to set the captives free

To bring good tidings to the poor

To restore sight to the blind

To heal and encouraged the brokenhearted

To bring back joy to those that moan

The battles to proclaim the good year of the Lord’s favor

To mankind, His creation

Man, created for Him by Him

To declare that man can be set free and free indeed.

“It is finished!” declared the Lord

The battles that raged, finally won

The Lord’s battles won!

John the Baptist said, “The kingdom of God suffers violence!”

Jesus said, “It is finished!” Done!

Dare we live in this victory?

Dare we believe?

Say Yes to the Winning team

Say YES to Him

For the battle is His and He has won the victory

The Lord our God, strong and mighty in battle!

John 6:44 King James Version (KJV)

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Perfect love cast out fear

Perfect love cast out  fear

Fear of rejection

Fear of losing a job

Fear of lack and having to borrow

Fear of sickness

Fear of past failures and mistakes being exposed

Fear of losing loved ones

Fear of falling short

Fear of death

Fear of being forgotten

Fear of being misunderstood out and being left out

Fear, fear, fear

Fear as opposed to faith

Yet the just shall live by faith

What if, just what if you discovered that the events you most feared would occur, will never take place?  What if you discovered that there was no need to fear and that everything was taken care of? Wouldn’t you sit back, let your hair down and take your mask off?

Wouldn’t you be yourself?

Come to yourself my soul, you are known and loved. Be yourself!

His embrace engulfs you, receive this amazing love. No need to fear any more.

Perfect love cast out fear

In Your embrace

I find peace

I find reassurance, I am accepted and loved

A warm embrace

Undeserved gifts, all given by grace

Here in Your embrace

I am Your business

You will never desert me

I am Yours

I am safe

So I surrender everything to You

My failures, my successes and my attempts at success…

If I live then it is through You and for You

If I die then I will be with You

Either way it is an eternal bound

With You my God

Perfect love.

Joshua 18:3 King James Version (KJV)

And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?

The Poem

The poem

The poet takes his pen

And begins to write

As he writes, he tries to understand

He wants to find the way in the maze of life

The poet

A simple man

Stuck in time

Living in a mortal body

Sometimes showing strength

But having weaknesses

But God

Creator of heaven and earth

Determines the seasons

Is not stuck in time

The great I AM

I AM in the past

I AM in the present

I AM in the future

He sees the maze of life that the poet is looking at

He is the way in the maze of life

The poet

Acknowledges the difficulty

In writing the poem

About the way through the maze of life

While stuck in time

He realizes he needs a birds-eye view

To figure out the way in this maze

Then, he sees the cross

And runs towards it

Standing there is the King

Yet God

To whom nothing is Impossible

Created the poet

Knows the poet

Knows everything

He is the way, the truth and the life

This incredible God

Holds everything together in His hands

He holds everything in His hands, including the poet

The poet

Sees the Christ the King

The way, the truth and the life

He immediately picks up his pen

And writes the poem

About the way through the maze of life

The first line of the poem reads

“Jesus the Christ”

Sing my soul sing

Sing my soul sing

Your source is the King

Light now shining bright

My path easier to tread

Sing my soul sing

The search stops now

My love is here

I find rest in Him

Sing my soul sing

Springs of water

Flowing your way

Thirst no more, there is enough to drink from the river of life

Sing my soul sing

The sweet and warm embrace

Of the One who truly loves you

Engulfs me now

Sing my soul sing

The melody of hope faith and of love

Totally dependent on you

Like a branch depends on the roots and trunk to supply water

Without You I wither and waste away

When I start walking away on my own I wither

Helpless like a sheep that strays away from the shepherd

Or like a dying plant without water

I am totally dependent on You

My Source

Living water

Bread of life

Rose of Sharon

My Jesus I need You

The Man of sorrows

He loved and waited to be loved

He gave and waited to be given

He sowed and waited to reap

He befriended and awaited their friendship and loyalty

He healed them and waited for their gratitude

He touched them and waited for them to touch others

He saved them and waited for their service

He forgave them and waited for them to forgive others

A Man of sorrows

He gave His life and waited for them to give Him theirs

He gave His heart, He did not hold back and is waiting for you to give Him yours

will you give Him your heart?

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
